From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Fabrice Amedeo visited our production site and discovered behind the scenes of how our metal filters are manufactured. These components play a key role in his project, accompanying him across the oceans to support the monitoring of ocean pollution, a critical issue of our time.
In the heart of our workshops, our teams presented the technical processes that integrate these filters into onboard ocean pollution sensors. This moment highlighted the importance of sustainable innovation and the tangible link between industrial solutions and scientific challenges.
💬 An Exclusive Exchange with Our Teams
From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Fabrice Amedeo spoke to our employees, sharing his journey from journalism to professional sailing and revisiting the highlights of his offshore adventures, including his participation in the latest Vendée Globe.
He also introduced his environmental initiative: Ocean Calling, a project based on oceanographic data collection conducted in the open sea. The microplastic data collected is currently being analyzed and will contribute to environmental research in the years ahead.
The Q&A session that followed allowed for rich and engaging exchanges, covering topics from his motivations for racing to the scientific impact of his missions. It also revealed the curiosity, involvement, and pride of our teams in contributing to a project with global significance.

A Committed Partnership for the Environment and Innovation

For several months, we’ve been supporting Fabrice Amedeo’s Ocean Calling program, an ambitious initiative focused on measuring microplastics and other key environmental indicators at sea.
Aboard his racing yacht, three onboard sensors measure:
- 🌡️ Water temperature
- 🫧 Dissolved CO₂
- 🧪 And most importantly, invisible plastic pollution, at the core of today’s oceanographic studies
💡 Our Contribution?
The custom development of high-precision oceanographic metal filters, specifically designed to capture ultra-fine particles (300, 150, and 30 microns).
These measurements are taken even in the most remote areas, places traditional scientific campaigns can’t reach. The data collected will fuel global environmental research and enhance the impact of science-backed offshore racing.
The data is centralized, cross-referenced, and will be analyzed over several years with the goal to :
- Deepen understanding of microplastic dispersion,
- Identify the most impacted marine zones,
- Support concrete prevention and regulation actions at an international scale.
